Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FlapBoard LLC ("FlapBoard," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FlapBoard and FlapBoard Remote apps and related services (the "Service").

Information we collect

• Account information — the name, email address, and password you provide when you create an account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form.
• Content you create — the messages, quotes, countdown events, flight numbers and dates, and ZIP codes you enter to display on your boards.
• Board configuration — which display modules you enable and which board a display device is set to show.
• Subscription status — whether your account has an active subscription, provided to us by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details; all payments are processed by Apple.
• Basic diagnostic logs — technical logs generated by our hosting provider to operate and secure the Service.

How we use information

• To operate the Service — storing your content and displaying it on the boards you control.
• To retrieve live flight and weather information you request for your boards.
• To verify your subscription and provide access to paid features.
• To respond to support requests and protect the Service from abuse.

Service providers

We share limited information with providers who help us operate the Service, only as needed to provide it:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, and server hosting.
• Apple — subscription purchases and verification.
• AeroDataBox — flight status (we send the flight number and date you enter).
• Open-Meteo and Zippopotam.us — weather and ZIP-to-location lookup (we send the ZIP code you enter).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Families and children

FlapBoard is designed for families. The account holder must be an adult (18+). Messages you send may be viewed by children on a household display, but the Service is controlled by the adult account holder. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data — including deletion of your entire account — by emailing us at the address below. We will process verified deletion requests promptly.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access-restricted databases, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
